Spotify is looking for a new band member to join our Global Tax Team as a Tax Manager EMEA, based in Stockholm. In this role, you’ll operate at the intersection of business, finance, and tax - helping shape how we navigate complex tax matters across the EMEA region in a fast-moving global company.
About the role
This is not a narrow specialist role. It’s a position where you’ll get real exposure, real responsibility, and real impact. As Tax Manager EMEA, you’ll take ownership of direct tax matters across the region - working closely with the business to ensure that tax is part of the conversation early, not an afterthought. You’ll be advising on a wide range of topics, including corporate income tax, withholding tax, and tax treaty considerations, supporting everything from commercial partnerships and new business initiatives to live events and licensing structures.
You’ll sit at the center of a highly international setup, collaborating daily with colleagues across Stockholm, New York, Singapore, and India, as well as with teams across Legal, Accounting, and the broader business.
A key part of the role is balancing advisory work with ownership of compliance. You’ll help drive and oversee tax compliance processes across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, working closely with external advisors while ensuring that filings, reporting, and tax positions are accurate, timely, and well controlled.
You’ll also play an active role in tax audits and queries, coordinate responses, and ensure that we stay ahead of regulatory developments across the region. At the same time, you’ll be part of cross-functional projects - including M&A-related work - where tax is an integral piece of the puzzle.
This is a role where things move quickly. New initiatives come in constantly, and not everything arrives neatly packaged. You’ll need to engage proactively, build strong relationships across the organisation, and make sure tax has a voice where it matters.
And because we’re constantly evolving, you’ll also contribute to improving how we work - whether that’s refining processes, driving efficiencies, or exploring how new tools and technologies can support the tax function. Above all, your work will have a real impact on how the world experiences audio. This role is based in Stockholm, and while we offer flexibility in how you work, we expect you to be present in the office around three days per week.
Qualifications
You bring a solid foundation in corporate taxation, with more than 5 years of experience gained either in-house, at a leading accounting firm or both. You’re comfortable working with corporate income tax and have a good grasp of international tax concepts, ideally with exposure across multiple jurisdictions in EMEA.
You’ve worked with tax compliance and tax accounting and understand what it takes to manage recurring processes with high quality, while still staying close to the bigger picture. Experience from cross-border transactions, M&A, or an international corporate environment is a strong plus.
But beyond your technical skills, this role is about how you work. You’re someone who naturally connects with others - whether that’s business stakeholders, finance, or legal - and you’re able to translate complex tax topics into clear, actionable insights. You don’t wait to be invited in; you step in, build relationships, and make yourself relevant.
You’re structured and reliable when it comes to deadlines and deliverables, but you’re also comfortable navigating change and ambiguity. Things move fast here, and priorities can shift - you’ll need to be able to keep momentum without losing direction.
You bring integrity and confidence in your professional judgment. You’re able to challenge when needed, stand your ground, and explain your reasoning in a way that others understand and respect. At the same time, you’re curious, open-minded, and motivated to keep learning. You’re the kind of person who thrives in an environment where change is constant - and where there’s always something new to figure out. Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential.
