About the role

We are looking for a driven, analytical, and committed Indirect Tax Manager with a technology focus to join our Group Tax team. The team holds global responsibility for tax within Essity, developing and driving the tax function to deliver on our global strategic tax framework. This position reports to the Indirect Tax Director and can be based in either our Stockholm or Gothenburg office.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will lead or support a wide range of activities in the area of indirect tax, all aimed at ensuring compliance, efficiency, and value creation. You will contribute to executing the indirect tax strategy by driving digital transformation initiatives, including automation, harmonization, and data insight projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and overseeing global indirect tax technology solutions, including performing key centralized activities and controls.
• Collaborating with the Indirect Tax Director to set and maintain global policies, processes, governance, and strategies within indirect tax.
• Leading and executing the implementation and changes of indirect tax technology solutions, processes, and relevant projects.
• Working closely with teams in Tax, Finance, IT, and Master Data to ensure tax requirements are met and solutions align with policies.
• Consulting and training local tax specialists, developing instructions as needed to enhance technology skills within the indirect tax organization and ensuring a harmonized and efficient way of working with applicable solutions.
• Participating in Essity’s indirect tax forums to secure synergies, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
• Providing expertise and advice on indirect tax issues across business units, global units, and functions.

Qualifications

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or a relevant field.
• Several years of experience working with VAT and other indirect taxes, with technology experience in a global/multinational context.
• Experience with SAP is a strong asset (preferably S/4 HANA and modules like ACR, Tax Compliance) and overall technology/data knowledge (e.g., BI/analytics tools).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Project management experience and strong proficiency in MS Office.
• Ability to travel a few times a year.
