R&D Platform Manager, Laundry Systems, Global R&D

Do you want to take a key role in a global engineering environment where product platforms rely as much on holistic understanding, quality and technical coordination as on pure engineering expertise? We are now looking for an R&D Platform Manager, Laundry Systems, a senior R&D generalist who wants to take full ownership of the complete system behind our professional laundry solutions.

This role is essential for ensuring that our products are developed in a stable, scalable and long-term sustainable way – and it involves broad interaction across an international matrix organization.

About the role

As R&D Platform Manager, you hold overall technical ownership of the platform behind our professional laundry solutions. You are the one who understands the entire system, what happens behind the scenes, how mechanics, electronics, software, water and heat systems interact, and which specialist competences need to be engaged to solve challenges within different technical domains.

You operate in a global R&D environment where multiple engineering disciplines, suppliers, specialists and development teams collaborate. The role requires broad technical competence, strong system understanding and the ability to drive complex technical matters to completion.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:
• Ensure the platform’s structure, architecture and long-term development direction
• Coordinate cross-functional engineering teams and specialists globally
• Support technical choices, trade-offs and system decisions
• Act as the main technical point of contact for leadership, global functions and project organizations

You report locally to the R&D Manager in Ljungby and work closely with our global engineering organization.

Your main responsibilities
• Overall ownership of the platform’s technical architecture
• Ensure seamless interaction between mechanics, electronics, software, control systems and thermal systems
• Quality assurance of technical solutions, design principles and system interfaces
• Lead and coordinate technical analyses, requirement definitions and system specifications
• Coordinate technical reviews and system validation

In this role you will be the primary technical contact towards global engineering functions, specialists and product owners and contribute to the development of new methods, processes and platform strategies. You will play a key role in our continuous efforts around standardization, modular design and technical reuse.

As a person you navigate and work efficiently within a complex system and platform structure, supported by experience from R&D in a similar technical environment.

Qualifications

You are a qualified engineer with both broad and deep technical understanding, and at least seven years of experience in similar roles, preferably within R&D or product development of complex technical products. You lead through competence, structure and clarity, rather than through formal personnel responsibility.

You have:
• A master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, automation or equivalent
• Several years of experience in product development or system engineering in an international technically complex environment
• Strong understanding of how mechanics, electronics, software and thermal systems interact
• Solid knowledge of system integration, platform development or technical architecture
• Ability to coordinate specialists and unify technical teams around a shared direction
• Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English

As a person, you are:
• Self-driven, confident and proactive
• Structured, analytical and quality focused
• A strong communicator who can create clarity in complex contexts
• Relationship oriented and comfortable challenging and following up with stakeholders at different levels
• Solution focused and used to navigating technology-intensive organizations

Culture

This is the right role for someone who wants to take clear ownership of a global technical platform in an exciting development phase, and who is motivated by creating structure, direction and quality in complex environments. With us, you will have a key role in shaping the next generation of professional laundry products, with significant influence over both technical solutions and ways of working.
